2004 starts with rapid progress....

Good News!

Much of the IT kit that we need for the project is now coming into service. This is allowing us to develop our recording and archiving methods. It looks as though the timing of our project is very fortunate - recent developments with digital audio-visual kit means that we can really look forward to producing quality outputs from the project.

We are beginning to experiment with some preliminary digital recordings tests, and to plan our archiving methods. In doing this we are learning from those with experience. We'd like to thank the following who have given invaluable advice in recent weeks:

- The 'Tales of the Mill' team in Holmfirth
- Carol Greenwood, of Bradford Local Studies Dept
- John Openshaw, of Royston & Carlton Community Partnership.
- Amanda Searle, LHI adviser

We are learning that everyone has something to offer the project. Like to get involved? We'd like to have you on board. Either come along to one of our meetings (see events page), or contact us directly (see our home page).

Date of issue : 19 Jan 2004
