The Roots of Judy Woods (Phase 2)
Location: Bradford

The group intend to build on their experiences in the first LHI project by working with experts and professionals to carry out an in-depth investigation into the history of Judy Woods. The project will actively engage people in the community in a variety of surveys, practical tasks, guided walks, presentation and will forge links with local schools through the inclusion of a bid for an NBS award.

Low Moor and Wyke local history groups will help to collate the information held in public records of the woods, By working with professionals and experts in their field to carry out an archaeological survey, including geophysics and an ecology survey (bat, bird, butterfly and moth, small mammals, dragonfly and NVC survey) volunteers will produce comprehensive reports of the heritage of the woodland.

The wider public will benefit trough a programme of themed activities/events and a woodland 'Open and celebration Day'.
