26 February 2005
Elephant Trail Markers Workshop
Venue: Spring Bank Community Centre

The Elephant Workshop on 26 February 2005 was the first of our 4 planned community events. It provided an opportunity for local residents to put their hand to designing the 40 cm square pavings that will act as 'footprints' to mark the trail. Stonemason Saffron Waghorn encouraged residents to have a go at carving the outline of an elephant in marble and explained the different types of materials that will be used to create the 20 'footprints'. The residents' designs will now be interpreted by Saffron onto the chosen materials thus starting the process of setting the history of the Hull Zoological Gardens in stone.
