Living Heritage Crafts
Location: East Riding of Yorkshire

This project aims to research how people lived in the Goole area 1000 years ago, during the Saxon/Viking period. From the findings, the project will recreate and demonstrate to a wider audience, a smaller element of that environment.

In particular, it will re-create a dwelling, make tools of the period and practice historic craft skills such as material dying and making weapons.

This would involve desk studies, practical tasks and instigate educational projects. The experiences of the project will be made fully accessible through the creation of a website.
