Gildersome Baptist Church Heritage and Wildlife Centre Location: Leeds
The project aims to survey and restore the Baptist Church's graveyard and develop an educational heritage trail within the grounds. The trail will form an educational facility, primarily to serve two local schools, but the site will be open to the public.
Educational materials will be designed in partnership with the schools, highlighting the site's built, cultural and natural heritage. Schoolchildren will be able to use the newly created indoor classroom for studies. A number of practical site restoration projects will be undertaken.
An NVQ accreditation will be linked to these.
