Discover Shipwrecks of the River Humber Area
Location: North East Lincolnshire

The project will investigate the sinking of ships in the River Humber Area, where many vessels have been lost. The project will focus on ships which came from the port of grimsby. The group with assistance from the local community will undertake desk research into the ships which were lost.

The group will involve other local groups (Local History Group, Local Scouts Groups) in the research of the history and stories surrounding the loss of these vessels. Detailed records of the lives of the vessels will be produced from the research. This information will be used to produce a leaflet about the ships and form a comprehensive database of vessels lost in the River humber Area.

The group will conduct dives to some of the wreck sites to inform the research (20 dive trips) and to map the wreck sites. They will undertake underwater filming and make detailed sketches and maps of the wrecks. The group will give talks to local schools and other groups in order to increase participation in the project. The group will also undertake 4 exhibitions to publicise the result of the project.
