Location: North East Lincolnshire

We consulted Godfrey and Lassey 1974 "Shipwrecks of the Yorkshire coast"

"Another large sailing ship, the 1,720 ton Culmore sank off Spurn with the loss of 22 lives on 14th November 1894"

This is the only large sailing ship lost within 30 miles of Spurn referred to in the above book.

It was of course a peacetime disaster.
