All's Well at St. Mary's (Phase 2)
Location: North Yorkshire

The group have applied for Phase 2 funding for their project. The first phase saw completion of restoration works to the well and the cover and investigation into the history and construction of the well. The group also undertook an essential archaeological survey.

The second phase will see the construction of an access path to the well with raised seating area. This will give the opportunity for the community to access the well, providing a permanent pathway over the boggy ground surrounding the structure.

The group alongside the pathway construction, will conduct research into the life of Reverend Henry Richardson, who covered the well with its elaborate casing. The research will cumulate in the publication of a book.

The group will also provide guided tours of the well (on request) and have already received interest in these. Two talks will be given by the group to the local community and one on the well and the Reverend and on on the results of the archaeological survey, completed in phase 1.

The group will also collect photographs from the local community, of the well and surrounding area and hold a photographic exhibition for the community.
