The Kingsdale Head Project
Location: North Yorkshire

The group wish to investigate a rectangular feature which has been discovered at Kingsdale Head in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The group will study the area using a Penmap, geophysical survey, topographical survey and photographic survey. Small scale excavation of a currently badly eroded area will be undertaken. This will be conducted in conjunction with experts from the University of Bradford.

The group will use skills developed from the previous project in order to assist with the surveying of the site (believed to be Norse in origin, rare for this part of the country). The group will involve local schools in the project, and they will be invited onto the site and asked to help with the practical works. Once the study is completed the group will analyse the information and publish the results in several formats. The group will hold an open day to encourage further participation from the wider community .

The group have invited local schools to access the area and to become involved with the project in order to increase understanding of the local heritage of the area.
