High Hazels Park Formal Garden Restoration - Phase 2
Location: Sheffield
Phase 1 of this project produced an historical leaflet about the formal garden and initiated a community led design of the area. The garden has fallen into neglect.
This phase 2 applcation is to work with other funding organisations to complement the design and intepret the heritage of the garden on site. The output will be the restored formal garden, including original planting schemes, topiary and seating for the community and interpretation boards placed in the garden containing information researched in Phase 1.
The plan includes the development of the wooded area at the back of the garden to encourage wildlife. The community will be involved in the planning works, design of the inteprretation material and community art features. Works will include opening up access for all. A maintenance buget has been secured from the Local Authority and community volunteers will carry out some ongoing tasks when appropriate.
